Honolulu firm in line for defense contract

Honolulu-based Commercial Data Systems Inc. today said it will provide a multi-level network security system for the United State Central Command, which is the headquarters for military operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.CDS would not disclose the value of pilot project , but said it received $2.4 million last year under a similar deal with the Joint Intelligence Center Pacific. Multi-level security systems provide remote computers access to only certain data, rather than blanket access to all information stored on a server.
CDS, a computer consultant and systems integrator, employs about 60 people in Honolulu, an office in Albuquerque, N.M., and elsewhere.
