Tonight's Must-See
"Lost," 7 p.m., ABC. Last week's episode ended brutally when the survivors found Claire's kidnapper. Jack pummeled him before Charlie shot him to death. That left them no closer to solving the human mysteries on the island. Now they return to the animal side: A giant boar attacks. "Alias," 8 p.m., ABC. Sydney and her half-sister Nadia squeeze information from a Russian oil man. "American Idol," 8 p.m., Fox. The top 24 contestants are announced. "The West Wing," 8 p.m., NBC. As the New Hampshire primary nears, Josh (Bradley Whitford) battles with his candidate (Jimmy Smits), who seems to be going nowhere. He also argues with his ex-lover Amy (Mary-Louise Parker), whom the candidate has hired. "Yes, Dear," season-opener, 8:30 p.m., CBS. For four seasons, this comedy existed in an in-between state. It was pleasant enough to enjoy, bland enough to forget. CBS didn't put it on the fall schedule but did order 13 episodes. Now it returns, replacing the failed "Center of the Universe." This show centers on two couples, one responsible (Anthony Clark and Jean Louisa Kelly), the other cheery (Mike O'Malley and Liza Snyder). Tonight, their young sons compete for the same playmate. "Wife Swap," 9 p.m., ABC. Here's an extreme switch: One woman is the solid wife of a mortician. The other travels the country in a converted bus with her husband and children.
