More than 200 junior tennis players will compete in the USTA National Open at Central O'ahu Regional Park today to Wednesday.
The USTA National Jr. Open features boys and girls in ages 18-and-under in singles and doubles. Last year, there were more than 125 participants from more than 22 states and Canada. Entry is restricted to those who qualify through a national selection process.

This is the only national tennis tournament for junior tennis players being played in Hawai'i.
"Over the past couple of years ... this event is emerging as one of the most popular events on the National Junior Tournament scene, bringing the highest level of junior tennis competition to O'ahu," said Bernard Gusman, Punahou School's director of tennis.
