Advertiser Staff and News Services

Keanu Reeves went to hell and back, but he could not unhitch Will Smith from the top of the box office. Smith's romance "Hitch" remained the No. 1 weekend movie with $31.8 million, narrowly beating Reeves' demonic thriller "Constantine," which debuted in second place with $30.5 million, according to studio estimates.

"Because of Winn-Dixie" was the family film winner over the baby-with-superpowers comedy "Son of the Mask." "Because of Winn-Dixie" opened at No. 3 with $10.85 million, and "Son of the Mask" opened at No. 4 with $7.7 million.

Bring a little lunch, enjoy a little art

The Hawai'i State Art Museum's free lunch-hour art appreciation lecture program, Artlunch, won't feed your stomach — you'll have to bring your own grinds.

But it should sate your appetite for art smarts.

Starting today and continuing on the last Tuesday of each month, the museum will offer up noon chats hosted by working artists and museum field professionals on everything art-related. Printmaker and painter Alice Bromley speaks today about the creative process and her works now on display at the museum.

The events take place at 250 S. Hotel St., in the museum's first-floor multipurpose room. Entry is free. Get more information at 586-9958.
