Tonight's Must-See

"ER," 9 p.m. Occasionally, this show stretches itself and pulls away from its hospital setting. The result has brought some of its better hours. A new attempt focuses on Gallant (Sharif Atkins), the handsome young doctor from a military family. Last season, he left for duty in Iraq. Now, a girl, injured in Iraq, can't get real medical help there. Can he ship her to Chicago for emergency surgery? He enlists the help of Neela (Parminder Nagra) and the thwarted romance between Gallant and Neela reappears.

Of Note

"Peter Jennings Reporting," 7 p.m., ABC. This looks at UFOs and at people who say they've seen them.

"Survivor: Palau," 7 p.m., CBS. In last week's opener, three people were ousted, trimming the field to 17. Tonight, one more goes.

"The O.C.," 7 p.m., Fox. Lindsay takes a DNA test to learn whether she really is Caleb's daughter.

"The Apprentice," 8 p.m, NBC. The teams try to create graffiti campaigns for a video game.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. Catherine's team probes the effects of sports betting. Grissom views a man who was crushed during a convention of overweight people.
