State amateur stroke-play event set for March 10

The Hawai'i State Amateur Stroke Play Championship will be held March 10 to 13 at Pearl Country Club. Golfers with a USGA-approved men's handicap of 7.0 or less are eligible.

Cost per player is $155. The field will be limited to the first 120 entries. There will be a 36-hole cut to the low 40s and ties.

Entry forms are available online at www.hawaiistategolf.org. Entries will be accepted by mail and must be postmarked by March 1. Make checks payable (no cash) to the Hawai'i State Golf Association. Entries can be mailed to: HSGA; 2005 State Amateur Stroke Play; 770 Kapi'olani Blvd., Ste. 701; Ho-nolulu, HI 96813.

Last year's winner was Matt Kodama, who shot a 1-under-par 287.
