KAHUKU — Honolulu 15-year-old Michelle Wie birdied her final hole today to shoot another 2-under-par 70 and is among the leaders in the second round of the SBS Open at Turtle Bay.

Wie, a Punahou sophomore, played the front nine in 3-under-par 33, needing just 12 putts. The tournament's only amateur was 5-under for the tournament at that point, but bogeyed the 10th and 11th holes. She closed with a birdie on the par-5 18th.

Reilly Rankin shot a 66 while playing in the same group as Wie, and is the early second-round leader at 7-under 137 through 36 holes — three ahead of Wie. First-round leader Jennifer Rosales was at 6-under, and even-par for the day, after six holes.

The LPGA's first official 2005 event concludes today with the final group teeing off at approximately 11:15 a.m.
