Tonight's Must-See

Tonight on KHNL News 8

Live from Honolulu, it's Friday night. News 8's Sharie Shima highlights one of Honolulu's hot spots tonight in a "Friday Night Live" segment at 5 and 6.

"JAG," 8 p.m., CBS. Mel Harris, the former "thirtysomething" co-star, seems to be everywhere now. On Wednesday, she was a key addition to the "West Wing" presidential race; tonight, she steps in as Cresswell's wife. Also arriving is Chris Beetem as new regular Lt. Vukovic, who has the same confident attitude as Harm.

Of Note

"Shakespeare in Love" (1998), 6 and 8:30 p.m., Bravo. Here's another chance — well, two more chances — to see this wonderful, Oscar-winning film. Gwyneth Paltrow is perfect as Shakespeare's lover and inspiration.

"Joan of Arcadia," 7 p.m., CBS. This wraps up the three episodes with Haylie Duff as a guest star. Joan is convinced that God wants her to help Stevie (Duff) keep her job. To do that, she must secretly find out her Social Security number; she ends up finding much more.

"That's So Raven," 7:30 p.m., Disney Channel. This show likes to set up broad sight gags; some are excessive but others — including tonight's — work well. Raven has accidentally broken her friend's statue. Her solution is extreme — and really quite funny.

"Third Watch," 8 p.m., NBC. Last week, we met a slick but deadly gang leader played by rapper Wyclef Jean. Tonight, he organizes pushers in an attempt to overpower the local police, while Cruz (Tia Texada) tries to get a boy to testify against him. Meanwhile, Bosco returns to patrol duty and Yokas confronts a vampire-like cult.

"Medical Investigation," 9 p.m., NBC. This investigation finds a link between victims who were all clients of a prostitution ring. The head of the National Institutes of Health (played by the talented Susanna Thompson) wants to avoid political aftershocks.

"Numb3rs," 9 p.m., CBS. The math genius is called in when a saboteur sends a note with a numeric code.
