DBEDT launches interim Web site

The Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism yesterday announced an interim Internet site for public use as the department's main site undergoes repairs.
The new site is at www.hawaii.gov/dbedt/interim. The main site at www2.hawaii.gov/dbedt will remain available for at least 20 hours a day, according to DBEDT. The site, which contains visitor statistics, state data and business links, is the most visited state site, according to DBEDT. It has been experiencing problems since late January.
Requests for state data also can be made by calling 586-2424.
Peter Schall, senior vice president for Hilton Hotels Corp. in Hawai'i, will retire at the end of July, a Hilton spokeswoman said.
Schall began his career with Hilton in 1965 and became managing director of the Hilton Hawaiian Village in 1986. He was later named senior vice president for the Hawai'i region.
Schall's successor has not been named.
Hawaiian Airlines will no longer accept interisland paper coupons after June 15, the company announced yesterday.
Coupons without expiration dates can be exchanged after June 15 for a one-way e-ticket by mailing the coupon to Hawaiian and providing a reservation confirmation code, passenger name, flight itinerary and e-mail and mailing addresses, Hawaiian officials said.
