'Reflecting Hawai'i' reception

The public is invited to a free opening reception for the new art exhibit "Reflecting Hawai'i" from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hawai'i State Art Museum at 250 S. Hotel St.
The exhibition, which will be open through Sept. 3, includes impressions of Hawai'i by 27 artists 14 acquired through a call for artworks and 19 photographs from the Art in Public Places Collection.
The reception will include refreshments and music by the University of Hawai'i Jazz Ensemble.
The museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, except on state holidays. Admission is free. 586-0900.
