High-tech grants awarded

Hawai'i's High Technology Development Corp. today announced that it awarded $136,155 to six local technology companies as part of its Small Business Innovation Research matching grant program.

The recipients included:

  • Referentia Systems Inc., which received $25,000 matching state money on a $99,509 Department of Defense grant.
  • Onomea Scientific LLC, received $21,155 matching state money on a $42,310 Department of Commerce grant.
  • Pacific Island Technology Inc., received $20,000 matching state money on a $97,961 Department of Defense grant.
  • Oceanit received $35,000 matching state money on a $70,000 Department of Defense grant and a separate $100,000 defense department grant.
  • 21st Century Systems Inc., received $15,000 matching state money on a $69,556 Department of Defense grant.
  • Makai Ocean Engineering Inc., received $20,000 matching state money on a $69,949 Department of Defense grant.



State solicits proposals for affordable housing

The state announced today that it is accepting proposals to develop affordable housing on three parcels totaling 20 acres at the Villages of Kapolei.

An informational meeting regarding the request for proposals will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the boardroom of the state Housing and Community Development Corp.
