TIM E. JOHNS, chief operating officer of the Damon Estate and former chairman of the state Department of Land and Natural Resources, is among three new members of the board of directors of Hawaiian Electric Co. Inc. (HECO). Johns is also past vice president and general counsel at AMFAC Property Development Corp., and a current member of the Board of Land and Natural Resources and chairman of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands, Coral Reef Ecosystem Reserve Advisory Council. Other HECO directors are DAVID M. NAKADA, executive director of Boys & Girls Club of Hawai'i since 1979; and CRYSTAL K. ROSE, partner in the law firm of Bays, Deaver, Lung, Rose and Baba.

DAVID MARTIN has been named regional manager for Morton's, The Steakhouse, overseeing management teams at locations in Honolulu; Hong Kong; Singapore; Vancouver; Portland, Ore., and Seattle. Previously, he was regional general manager of Morton's restaurants in Honolulu, Hong Kong and Singapore, including Honolulu's outlet at Ala Moana Center. BILL NICKERSON, a former vice president of operations for MCM Restaurants (Shore Bird Beach Broiler, Ivy's Prime Rib and Lahaina Fish Co.) was promoted from manager, to general manager/maitre'd, of Morton's Honolulu location.

• YUKO SUKAWA, who joined Atlantis Adventures in 1996 as cruise director, has been promoted to O'ahu guest services supervisor, overseeing, including among other duties, check-in and ticketing, and staff scheduling for both Atlantis Submarines and Atlantis Cruises. TERI-LYNN PAREL, has been promoted to Agency Service Center manager, overseeing reservations and sales functions on O'ahu. Filling Parel's former position of sales manager is LAUREN MERRILL, who will oversee sales and promotion of Atlantis offerings to westbound visitors.

• The Federal Reserve Board has appointed Bank of Hawaii Senior Vice President KELLY K. WALSH to a three-year term on its 30-member Consumer Advisory Council. The council meets three times a year in Washington, D.C., to advise the board on exercise of its responsibilities under the Consumer Credit Protection Act. Walsh was Hawai'i's U.S. Small Business Administration Financial Services Advocate of the Year in 2001.

BRETT PHILLIPS has been named construction manager at The Shidler Group, a real estate investment firm. He was previously vice president of estimating and business development for Allied Builders System, and before that, with Charles Pankow Builders Ltd. The Shidler Group currently owns and operates more than 8 million square feet of commercial property in Hawai'i, Texas, Arizona and Southern California.

• MIKE JOKOVICH has been named general manager of the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa as the 1,230-room, twin-tower property continues its $16 million guest room renovation. Renovations on the hotel's Diamond Head Tower will begin in the spring.
