Chaminade rolls in basketball, 115-68

Chris Nelson scored 22 points to lead five teammates in double figures as host Chaminade romped past Saint Martin's College, 115-68, yesterday at McCabe Gym.

Marko Kolaric added 16 points, Dylan McCune 15, Nick Frey and Dustin Mittelsteadt had 13 each and Chris Reaves 12 for the Silverswords (7-4). The Saints, from Lacey, Wash., fell to 4-5.

Chaminade continues its homestand on Tuesday with a PacWest game against Montana State-Billings. Tipoff is 7:30 p.m.



UH-Hilo rolls past Asbury College, 78-46

West Hawthorne scored 14 points, Osadonor Esene had 12 and Alex Graham 10, leading Hawai'i-Hilo to a 78-46 victory over Asbury College Friday night at the Afook-Chinen Civic in Hilo.

All 10 players who got in the game for UHH (12-1) scored at least four points. Asbury, from Wilmore, Ky., fell to 8-7.



Low leads Cougars over Cardinals

Iolani grad Derrick Low matched his career-high with 10 points as Washington State beat visiting Stanford, 60-51, yesterday.

Low, a freshman point guard, shot 4 for 7, including 1 for 2 from 3-point range, and added four assists, one rebound and one steal in a team-high 38 minutes.

D.C. United vs. Galaxy tickets on sale Monday

Tickets for the Aloha Soccer Cup, featuring Major League Soccer champion D.C. United's Freddy Adu and L.A. Galaxy's Cobi Jones, go on sale Monday at the Aloha Stadium and UH ticket offices.

The match is scheduled for Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Aloha Stadium, and will be the first time in nearly 30 years a professional soccer match will be played in Hawai'i.

First Hawaiian Bank, on behalf of Friends of Hawai'i charities, is also selling tickets. Tickets are also available by phone (944-2697) and at etickethawaii.com.

General admission tickets are available for $20, and reserved seating tickets, ranging from $28 to $60, are also available.
