For the seventh consecutive year, the HAWAI'I CONVENTION CENTER managed by SMG has received Facilities and Destinations magazine's Prime Site Award. The awards are voted on by leaders in the meetings and conventions industry, including promoters, booking agents and event planners. The center's technological amenities including fiber-optic cabling, multi-
lingual translation stations, satellite and microwave broadcast capability and video conferencing have been factors in the center's selection. Voting is based on convenience of location, facility attractiveness and maintenance, professionalism of staff, food and beverage functions, and technological capabilities.
For the third consecutive year, the Hawai'i Visitors & Convention Bureau has has been awarded Corporate and Incentive Travel magazine's Award of Excellence, selected by corporate and incentive meeting planners nationwide. The HVCB was recognized for quality of service hosting corporate meetings and inventive programs and on-site support and tour and transportation excellence.
M. Dyer & Sons Inc. was awarded the industry's only global recognition, The FIDI International Federation of International Removers' Quality Assurance Award. Employees from packers to office staff were quizzed at random on company procedures. Some 500 operational aspects from answering telephones and fire regulations to packing material use were audited for the recognition. The Belgian-based FIDI International Federation of International Removers represents more than 600 moving companies worldwide.
C. SCOTT BRADLEY, co-managing director of Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties, has been named the 2004 Realtor of the Year by the Honolulu Board of Realtors. Bradley oversees his company's residential operations, including relocation, agent services, marketing and acquisitions. He is also chairman of Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties Commercial, and partner and director of Pacific Access Mortgage.
