We love subtitles. Really, we do. And we promise there'll be lots of subtitles involved as the Honolulu Academy of Arts continues its weeklong Arabic/Persian/Islamic film series tonight with "Forget Baghdad: Jews and Arabs."

Shimon Ballas is featured in "Forget Baghdad: Jews and Arabs," showing at the Honolulu Academy of Arts.

The documentary examines representations of both cultures in Israeli and Iraqi society via their depiction in popular culture and the experiences of Arabic Jews and Jewish Arabs. "Baghdad" will be shown at the Doris Duke Theatre at 1 and 7:30 p.m. today and tomorrow. Showing Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m. is "Turtles Can Fly," Iran's 2005 Academy Awards entry. Tickets are $5 general, $3 academy members.

Information: 532-8700.
