Advertiser Staff

Police arrested a 32-year-old man early yesterday in connection with the Dec. 22 shooting death of a retired Makiki accountant.

Police said the suspect is an acquaintance of victim Robert E. Lee, but they declined to disclose details about the arrest or the events that led up to the shooting.

Police said Lee, 71, was shot once in the head about 8:10 p.m. Dec. 22, in the garage area of a building at 1555 Pensacola Street. Lee was found next to a silver Toyota pickup truck.

The shooting took place outside a three-story apartment building surrounded by highrises on Pensacola Street, about a block mauka of the H-1 Freeway, near Hassinger Street.

Lee and his two sons owned the apartment building.
