Advertiser Staff

Fred De Angelo

Chef Fred De Angelo is sounding relaxed and enthused these days: He and fiancé Cheryl Hibbs have launched a venture that's allowing him to focus on the things he loves — cooking, menu design, working closely with clients and friends.

'Olino Events is a catering firm that specializes in intimate dinners and out-of-the-ordinary events. "It's not just a caterer dropping off a chafing dish — the chef is right there," De Angelo said. That chef might be De Angelo or a number of other familiar names: Mariano Lalica, Eric Leterc, Carlos Madrigal, GOren Streng among them. De Angelo is supervising culinary operations at the Kaneohe Yacht Club and working out of its kitchen. Information: www.olinoevents.com; 265-3352.

Taking over De Angelo's former position as director of culinary operations at Tiki's Grill & Bar is Eric "Wolf" Levine, formerly of the Hard Rock Cafe.
