Cal State San Bernardino senior forward Nabosa Basse (Maryknoll '99 of Mililani) was named the school's Athlete of the Week for Jan. 3 after recording the first double-double of her two-year career at CSUSB with a 15-point, 10-rebound performance in a 68-54 win over Western New Mexico on Dec. 30. Ohio State senior Ryan Kohatsu (Waiakea of Hilo) was the top shooter at a meet against Akron Saturday, scoring a 592 in smallbore and a 585 in air rifle for a meet-high 1,177 aggregate.
Gymnastics
Maryland senior Mandy Pascual (Punahou '01 of 'Aiea) finished tied for third on the bars with a score of 9.825 at the Maui Invitational Friday.
Women's Swimming
Tulane sophomore Leslie Christian (Leilehua '03 of Wahiawa) won the 1650 freestyle in 17:20.74 at the UNO/NOKIA Sugar Bowl Invitational Saturday. Men's Swimming

Cornell senior Travis Lee (Saint Louis '01 of Liliha) picked up three wins at the Lone Star Duals Saturday. Lee beat Oklahoma's Joe Comparin by decision (8-1), and Purdue's Sean Schmaltz, win by fall (3:51), then pinned Central Oklahoma's Jared Henning in 4:35.
Pacific (Forest Grove, Ore.) sophomore Aaron Fernandez (Lana'i) defeated South Dakota State's Marcus Water, 11-5, at 133 pounds at the Oregon Classic Friday. Women's Wrestling
Pacific (Forest Grove, Ore.) sophomore Kapua Torres (Kahuku) finished second in the 114- to 120-pound weight class at the Boxer Open Sunday. Torres, who went 3-1 in the round-robin bracket, is ranked fourth at 112.25 in TheMat.com's national rankings.

The 2004 Iolani graduate from Honolulu has recovered from a broken bone in his right foot and its subsequent surgery to average 26.1 minutes and 5.4 points per game for the Cougars (7-6 overall, 2-2 Pac-10).
UC Irvine freshman Randall Tom (Seabury Hall '04 of Wailuku) won the 200 butterfly (1:51.74), 50 butterfly (22.59) and 200 individual medley (1:54.46) at the UC Irvine/Ayres Hotel & Suites Sprint Invitational Saturday.
