Woman found dead on Kaua'i

HANAPEPE — An 18-year-old woman was found dead this morning in an area known as Glass Beach on Kaua'i, Kaua'i Police Department officials said. Police are investigating the death as a homicide.The identity of the woman will be withheld until notification of family and positive identification can be confirmed, police said in a news release.
Based on preliminary investigation, KPD detectives believe the victim was fatally injured last night between 10 p.m. and midnight, the release said.
Police are asking anyone who saw what may have happened during the evening at Glass Beach, or has other information about the case, to contact Lt. Roy Asher, Detective Sam Sheldon or Detective Marvin Rivera at (808) 241-1711.
Officials were awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the victim's cause of death.
