Eight students and one teacher received minor injuries when part of a ceiling collapsed Friday in a classroom in C Building. No one was exposed to hazardous materials, officials said.
A structural engineering firm inspected the entire school and determined that 10 classrooms in C Building should have ceiling components replaced, while the rest of the campus was declared safe, officials said.
Repairs to C Building will take two to three weeks. Workers will replace corroded tie wires which hold up the ceiling.
School officials decided to cancel classes for Tuesday so they could meet and decide where to house the classes that are being displaced by the repair work.
