Man arrested in Kaua'i homicide

Advertiser Staff

Kaua'i police arrested a 36-year-old Kalaheo man last night in connection with the killing of an 18-year-old Hanama'ulu woman.

According to police, the man, whose name was not released, was an acquaintance of Weslyn Jerves, whose body was found at the edge of a coastal graveyard near Port Allen on Jan. 13.

The man is being held at the Lihu'e cell block and is awaiting arraignment.

Police said the killing is not related to two unsolved homicides of women on Kaua'i in 2000.
