Wilson 76th, Meyer 77th

Kane'ohe's Dean Wilson (77-288) finished 76th yesterday and won $9,024 in the Sony Open in Hawai'i.

Wilson was notified on the practice range an hour before tee time on Thursday that he had made the tournament field as the fourth alternate.

Hilo's Greg Meyer (74-289) was 77th and won $8,928.

Meyer will go for his third consecutive Hawai'i Pearl Open championship the first week of February.

No numbers

Tournament officials were unable to give a crowd count for any of the tournament days. Last year, with Michelle Wie playing for the first time, five-day attendance was up 47 percent over 2003, to 51,717.
