Firm buys Kalihi warehouse

Honolulu-based real-estate investment firm Watumull Properties Corp. has purchased a Kalihi warehouse from Pacific Warehouse for an undisclosed price.

The 98,000-square-foot building at 801 Mo'owa'a St. is 100 percent leased by plumbing and building supply distributor Ferguson Enterprises and Business Cards Tomorrow. Watumull Properties, an owner of primarily industrial real estate in Hawai'i, said it continues to seek additional commercial property investments locally.



Marriott settles harassment suit

Marriott Ownership Resorts Inc. has agreed to pay $190,000 to settle a lawsuit in which a female sales executive in training alleged she was sexually harassed by her project director at the company's Ko Olina Beach Club resort, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced yesterday.

The executive alleged that she was eventually fired in retaliation for rejecting his sexual advances. The company, which does business as Marriott Vacation Club International, and its parent company, Marriott International, denied wrongdoing. Marriott agreed to pay the former employee $190,000, and reaffirm its "zero tolerance" policy on sex harassment.



Home show starts Feb. 3

The Building Industry Association of Hawaii will hold its 11th Annual Home Building & Remodeling Show at the Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall Feb. 3 through Feb. 6.
