Chris Duplanty, a Punahou School graduate and three-time Olympian, has been selected by the United States Olympic Committee to serve as liaison from the Board of Directors to the Olympic Assembly.

The Olympic Assembly was established by the USOC in October 2003 to foster communication, cooperation and the development of new initiatives involving the U.S. Olympic Committee and the diverse sport organizations involved in the Olympic Movement to advance and achieve the organization's mission, according to a release.

"I look forward to working with the Chairs of the Athletes' Advisory Council, National Governing Body Council and Multisport Organizations Council to facilitate the Board's ability to communicate with and receive input from the many diverse members of the Olympic Assembly," said Duplanty, who competed in the 1988, 1992 and 1996 Games as a goalie for the U.S. water polo team.

Duplanty also served as an assistant coach for the U.S. women's team that won a silver medal at the 2000 Games.
