Kneubuhl starts for Northridge volleyball team

 •  Broadus plays point for No. 1 JUCO team

Northridge redshirt freshman outside hitter Isaac Kneubuhl, a two-time Advertiser State Player of the Year, is returning home this week for volleyball matches against the University of Hawai'i today and Friday.

Both matches are at 7 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Kneubuhl, a 2003 graduate of Kamehameha from Pukalani, Maui, has started all five matches for the No. 6 Matadors. He is third on the team with 2.52 kills per game and has a .223 hitting percentage. He also averages 1.57 digs.



Women's Basketball

• Idaho State freshman guard India Soo (Kamehameha '04 of Waikea, Hawai'i) had 13 points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal in a 63-57 win over Sacramento State Thursday. She had seven points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals in a 76-69 loss to Northern Arizona Saturday.

• Pacific (Calif.) junior center Tina Sanerivi (Farrington of Waipahu) had 13 points and eight rebounds in a 74-52 loss to Idaho Saturday.

• MIT freshman forward Adrianne Ho'o Hee (Kamehameha '04 of Kailua) had seven points, five rebounds and two steals in a 46-42 win over Polytechnic Dec. 4.

• Alcorn State (Miss.) freshman center LaToya Wily (Kahuku '04) had seven points and eight rebounds in a 72-37 rout of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Monday.

• Menlo (Calif.) freshman guard Kepua Lee (Moanalua '04 of Honolulu) scored 11 points in a 68-50 loss to No. 12 Dominican Saturday.

Junior guard Shannon Riley (Maryknoll '02) added five points in the loss.

Riley had 13 points and a game-high nine assists in a 73-55 win over Simpson College Friday. She was named the school's athlete of the week.

Lee had 11 points and five rebounds against Simpson.



Men's Basketball

• Washington State freshman point guard Derrick Low (Iolani '04 of Honolulu) had 10 points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal in 34 minutes in a 55-52 loss to Oregon Saturday. He had four points, one rebound, three assists and one steal in a 63-45 win over Oregon State Thursday.



Women's Swimming

• Tulane sophomore Leslie Christian (Leilehua '03 of Wahiawa) won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:32.74 at a meet against Delta State and Rhodes College.



Men's Swimming

• Stanford sophomore Hongzhe Sun (Iolani '03 of 'Ewa Beach) finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke in 58.56 seconds in a dual meet against Pacific Saturday.

He helped the Cardinal's 200-yard freestyle relay team win in 1:23.36, and the 200 medley relay team finish second in 1:33.15.

Stanford freshman Noa Sakamoto (Punahou '04) finished third in the 200 freestyle in 1:43.11.



Men's Tennis

• Boise State senior Ikaika Jobe (Punahou '01 of Wailupe) beat Robvert Chalkey of Idaho, 6-2, 6-1, and Jannes Schenk of Utah State, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2 singles Monday.

Jobe also teamed with Matias Silva to defeat Chalkey and Michael Suttner, 8-4, and Utah State's Joao Pinho and Dantley Young, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles.
