Welcome to the world of modern digital life

 •  Don't get left behind as digital technology takes over

By Zenaida Serrano
Advertiser Staff Writer

It's a sign of the times. Digital technology now affects everything — from the way we influence others (blogs, online Meetup groups) and how we vote (online ballots and political content), to how we decorate our cake tops (think digital snapshots).

The University of Hawai'i Outreach College and the UH Pacific New Media program aim to help you learn how to navigate the rapidly changing digital environment and participate in shaping the digital future, with Living Digital, a series of talks beginning today.

The first talk, "E-Democracy Beyond 2004," covers the powerful influence of Internet-spawned tools: the blogosphere, Meetup groups, audio podcasts, online ballots and more.

The free talks — which will also cover podcasting, phishing, TiVo, iPods, digital images and more — will be held at UH Downtown, 900 Fort Street Mall, lower level, Suite 10. For more information, see below or call 586-3860.
