Skins Game tickets on Maui

Tickets are available on Maui for the Wendy's Champions Skins Game. The 18-hole exhibition will feature Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Craig Stadler and defending champion Tom Watson, Feb. 5 at Wailea's Gold Course. The Pro-Am is Feb. 4.

Tickets are $25 for the day of competition and $10 for the Pro-Am. They are available at Wailea's pro shops, Queen Ka'ahumanu Center, Ka'anapali Golf Club, Nevada Bob's in

Kihei, Maui Golf Shop and most Wailea hotels. Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by a ticketed adult.

Activities benefiting the Prostate Cancer Foundation will be held before the Skins Game.

Golfers playing at Wailea Jan. 31 to Feb. 4 can register, for $20, for a closest-to-the-pin contest. Ten finalists will receive a replica of Palmer's putter and a chance at a grand prize, presented by Palmer.

Wailea pros are having a putting contest, prize drawing and offering free tips on two days to raise money for the fund. The first will be Jan. 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Ka'ahumanu Center. The second will be Feb. 2, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at The Shops at Wailea.

Pro Ferry opens Mililani Golf Academy

Local teaching pro Jeff Ferry has started the Mililani Golf Academy at Mililani Golf Club. Private and group lessons are available for adults and juniors.

Along with Ferry, Randy Chang is director of instruction and Joey Tadeo and Regan Lee are instructors.
