RON HIGGINS, has been elected to the Punahou School board of trustees. Higgins has guided four technology companies from their early stages through successful public offerings, including Internet company Digital Island Inc., and RSHF LLC, a private investment management firm. Higgins also is a leading private investor in a number of technology companies, including biotech, aquaculture and wireless network firms. Higgins, a 1975 Punahou graduate, has shepherded increased use of technology at the school.
DAN DAVIDSON, former deputy director of the state Department of Land and Natural Resources, has been named vice president of development for Aina Nui Corp., a land management and development subsidiary of the James Campbell Estate. He will also manage land development activities for Kapolei Property Development LLC, also a Campbell affiliate, which, with Aina Nui Corp., focuses on the development of the City of Kapolei and adjacent properties. Before joining DLNR in March 2003, Davidson was executive director for the Land Use Research Foundation of Hawai'i, a private, nonprofit lobbying group for landowners and developers.
BLAISE KANANI BISSEN has joined commercial real estate brokerage firm The Leandro Corp. He previously worked for The Business Development Group and Evironedge Technologies.
ERIC "WOLF" LEVINE has been named director of culinary operations for Waikiki's Tiki's Grill & Bar. Levine is a 17-year Hard Rock Cafe operations and kitchen manager who helped open and manage new Hard Rock restaurants in Chicago, Houston, Honolulu, San Diego and Sacramento, and Sydney, Melbourne and Surfer's Paradise, Australia. Levine most recently opened and served as general manager of Sam Snead's Tavern at the Navy-Marine Golf Course for the past three years. The 272-seat Tiki's is on the second floor of the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel.
Two Bank of Hawaii vice presidents have been promoted to senior vice president: BLANE E. BIXLER has been promoted from vice president and wholesale credit administrator to senior vice president and wholesale credit administration. His primary areas of responsibility will include commercial real estate, auto finance, and middle-market commercial lending and leasing portfolios. He will also oversee the bank's commercial appraisal and environmental risk management.
ANTONITA "NETTE" CAMACHO has been promoted from vice president and regional sales manager to senior vice president and regional sales manager for Guam, Saipan and Palau, within the bank's Pacific Islands Division. She continues responsibility for retail banking, including consumer and residential mortgage lending. and branch operations.
