Three killed in Big Island crash

Three people were killed last night in a head-on crash on Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway in South Kohala on the Big Island.
A fourth person was taken to North Hawai'i Community Hospital in critical condition, the Hawai'i County Fire Department said.
The accident was reported at 6:26 p.m. at the 81.75 mile post of Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway. Fire officials said three people were dead and pinned in the cars; the fourth person was flown by helicopter to the hospital.
Traffic was detoured onto Waikoloa Road.
