California prep lineman commits to UH

The University of Hawai'i football team today secured a commitment from a standout offensive lineman from Stockton, Calif.John Estes, who is 6 feet 2 and 280 pounds, will put his commitment in writing on Feb. 2, the first day recruits may sign binding national letters of intent.
Estes received several awards as a Saint Mary's School senior. He was named as the San Joaquin Athletic Association's Lineman of the Year.
He also was named to the Sacramento-Joaquin All-Section first team. That all-star team was sponsored by the Sacramento Valley Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.
In 2004, Saint Mary's won the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I championship.
