There are simply no words that would accurately describe the depth of sadness I feel for the families of the fallen Marines. As I read each Marine's biography, I was overcome with deep sorrow for their families and loved ones. I truly honor these brave, courageous men and women who have risked their lives to secure peace and freedom for the people of Iraq. To all of our brave young men and women. . .we salute you and you will never, never be forgotten.

This is terribly heart wrenching. Waiting and watching every bit
of trickling information about the people lost is life consuming.
My brother is also with the 1/3. Thinking that he is still in
danger leaves me sick to my stomach every day. I keep telling
myself my brother is okay. No news is good news. No news is
good news.
I'm am crying for the sisters, mothers, fathers, brothers, and
wifes that had to see the marines come to your door. I wish
more than anything, those of you who have lost your loved ones
still had the hope to hang on to. I'm so sorry for your loss. I am
forever grateful for your sons bravery.
Thank you with deep sympathy,
Athena, Sister of a Marine

It is with a heavy heart that I send my deepest condolences to the families of the brave young men who lost their lives this week. When I lived in Hawaii, I had the honor of knowing Cpl. Timothy Gibson and having him as a guest in my home. I truly have never known a finer young man. He will be missed as well as the other fine young men that perished with him. God bless the loved ones they left behind.

As a grandmother of a Marine in Afghanistan, and I covet your prayers for him as well, I can't begin to understand the pain you are feeling just now, but I weep with you. Please just let this be your strength and comfort. "Loving the Lord means never having to say goodbye to our loved ones because some day we will see Him and we shall all be changed" and we will never have to know the kind of pain you are feeling now.
May His presence give you peace, and comfort your heart knowing that there is a grandmother in Texas who will be lifting you up today and each day to come. Sincerely Mrs. Wyckoff

They were brave and selfless men for signing up to join the most elite fighting force in the world and their sacrifice will never be forgotten. As a fiancee of a Kaneohe based marine, I truely appreciate and never take for granted those who sacrifice so much of themselves so the rest of the country doesn't have to. My son, LCPL Donnie Warner Jr. is stationed at Camp Fallujah in Iraq (where Tim was also stationed). There are not many people in this world, who can be so very brave for the sake of others, so very proud of the job they do, who do it not for wealth or fame or for any other reason...other than the strongest sense of duty and honor and loyalty to their family and country. I can only hope that is it comforting for the families and friends of those who died in this tragedy to know that all of Hawaii, and the country, and quite possibly everyone in this world who knows what true freedom means--is also saddened by this unrepairable loss.

As a former miltary dependent, I know as a dependent you worry about your parent or parents when they go to a area of conflict. In my case my father was in the Vietnam conflict, and at that time the news was censored as what we saw or heard on national television or read in the papers. Today we know instantly when something happens and my heart goes out to the families that lost their loved ones, but please remember also the difference in the Irag war and the Vietnam conflict was that the the men and women knew that they may go to war when they signed up for the miltary, wheras the young men during vietnam did not have a choice when they were drafted. Again godspeed to them men that lost their lives today and god watch over the men and women that are still there. Peace Out

Be assured that the lives of those lost will not be in vain and that we are all in the debt of these brave men for without their service and dedication our world would be a very different place. It is such a terrible and unfathomable contrast to see in the news the triumph and greatness of mankind in reaching the surface of Saturn's moon Titan and seeing it for the first time, with the tragedy that occurred to those very brave souls who gave their lives in Iraq. There is still much we all have to do here in their memory to inspire the best in this world , amid all the hatred and conflict. Thanks can never be given enough for their sacrifice in supporting their country as a beacon of hope for the future. I am sure that all of Hawaii grieves deeply with you, and wishes you God's comfort and peace.

Words cannot express the grief I feel today for the families of the fallen. My father was a Marine in the 1950's and I have loved and respected the corps all of my life. It was not until the Iraq war that I truly understood what it means to be a Marine. I watch you train at March AFB in Riverside everyday and pray for your safe return as soon as your job is done. Your service will never be forgotten and I will always be proud to be an American because of the U.S. Marine Corps. God Bless the families and the Island of Hawaii for the great loss of troops.

It is always sad to hear about the losses of loved ones serving in the War in Iraq. Our hearts go out to those who lost loved ones in this unfortunate incident. However, remember these are all our Brothers and Sisters fighting in the War. They are our Heros and there are now 27 new Angels flying and watching over us. God Bless.
