A 15-year-old girl was listed in critical condition at The Queen's Medical Center this morning after the stolen car she was driving crashed into a light pole on Ala Wai Boulevard last night.

Police said officers in a patrol car saw the girl speeding down the road in a Honda that veered into a curb on the makai side and smashed into the pole.

The girl, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered head and chest injuries. She was taken to Queen's in serious condition following the 1:43 a.m. crash, but was listed in critical condition at about 7 o'clock this morning after her health deteriorated.

Dog bite lands child in hospital

A 3-year-old Kapolei boy was taken to the hospital this morning after a family dog bit him on the head, face and arms.

Police said the boy wandered out of the house into the yard of his family's Honokai Hale home about 4:15 a.m. and was attacked by one of several Rottweilers the family owns. It is not clear which of the dogs bit the boy because they all scattered after the boy screamed.

The boy's mother said she heard her son scream and found him outside in the yard.

No information on his condition was immediately available, although police said he appeared to be more traumatized than physically injured by the incident.

The woman, 23, said she was arguing with her boyfriend about 11:30 a.m. when he began to punch and kick her. She told police she went to her car to get away from the boyfriend, who then got into his car and reversed it, slamming into the side of her car where she was sitting.

The man left the area before police arrived but they found him later. He was arrested for suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and abuse of a household member.

Sexual assault complaint lodged

Police yesterday arrested a 46-year-old man as a suspect in the sexual assault of a 27-year-old man.

The younger man told police he had gone drinking in Waikiki with several co-workers Saturday night and that one of them offered him a ride home at the end of the evening.

The man who reported being attacked said he passed out during the ride home and awoke to find the other man sexually assaulting him.

The victim identified the suspect via a photographic lineup, police found the man Tuesday and are seeking charges of second-degree sexual assault against him.
