Fox's "North Shore," shot on O'ahu, is hoping to resume production as soon as the network gives the go-ahead.
Advertiser library photo "I'm told that the word on a pickup will come in mid-February or the end of February."
If it's a green light, the show would return to O'ahu, the producer said. "Costs are a concern, for sure, but the (tax) incentives were in place when we started, and they were much better then (than now). I don't believe that if we got picked up, we'd relocate the show anywhere else; they won't take 'North Shore' and shoot it in San Diego," Bring said.
Harry V. Bring, a producer of "North Shore," said networks are now concentrating on new TV pilots and upcoming series for summer and fall schedules, and that is diverting the network's attention from green-lighting future episodes of series like his that are on the air or on hiatus. Bring is producing a Fox pilot, "Amy Coyne," "but we'll be able to finish up and still come back to Hawai'i for 'North Shore,' " he said. "Everything's still there including our set at the soundstage (the Hawai'i Film Studio near Diamond Head), and we're ready to rock 'n' roll.
Producer Harry Bring said he's waiting for word from the network about the future of "North Shore."
