Here's what's open and closed on the Independence Day holiday, Monday, July 4:
• Government: Federal, state and city offices closed. • Mail: All post offices closed; no regular residential or business delivery or pickup; no pickup from (blue) collection boxes; Express Mail delivered to Honolulu addresses only. • Libraries: All closed, Saturday to Monday. (For special holiday hours other days: www.librarieshawaii.org.) • TheBus: Sunday schedule. Information: 848-5555 or www.thebus.org. • Handi-Vans: Operating 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. • On-street parking: Free, except for Kalakaua Avenue metered stalls along Kapi'olani Park. Holiday towaway zone parking as permitted by sign. Meters in municipal lots must be fed. • Traffic: No coning. • Trash: Regular residential and business rubbish pickups. • Landfills/transfer stations: Open. • Open markets: Not operating. • Attractions: Municipal golf courses, botanical gardens and Honolulu Zoo open.
