What's open and closed on Independence Day

Here's what's open and closed on the Independence Day holiday, Monday, July 4:

Government: Federal, state and city offices closed.

Mail: All post offices closed; no regular residential or business delivery or pickup; no pickup from (blue) collection boxes; Express Mail delivered to Honolulu addresses only.

Libraries: All closed, Saturday to Monday. (For special holiday hours other days: www.librarieshawaii.org.)

TheBus: Sunday schedule. Information: 848-5555 or www.thebus.org.

Handi-Vans: Operating 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

On-street parking: Free, except for Kalakaua Avenue metered stalls along Kapi'olani Park. Holiday towaway zone parking as permitted by sign. Meters in municipal lots must be fed.

Traffic: No coning.

Trash: Regular residential and business rubbish pickups.

Landfills/transfer stations: Open.

Open markets: Not operating.

Attractions: Municipal golf courses, botanical gardens and Honolulu Zoo open.
