Tonight's Must-See

"Live 8" from 8 a.m., MTV; highlights, 7 p.m., ABC. Around the globe today, the former "Live Aid" concept will reach epic proportions. Separate concerts will be held on several continents. Their goal is to help impoverished people and to bring change in trade rules. A two-hour ABC special offers concert highlights; the MTV live broadcast offers a major portion of the day from various venues.

There will be plenty of music acts to choose from. The Philadelphia concert alone has music by Alicia Keys, Destiny's Child, Dave Matthews, Will Smith, Stevie Wonder and country music's Toby Keith and Keith Urban. The London concert has Paul McCartney, Madonna, a reunion of Pink Floyd's original lineup, Coldplay, R.E.M., Bob Geldof, Joss Stone and more. No one's asking for money: They just want you to tune in.

Of Note

NASCAR auto racing, 1 p.m., NBC. It's Nextel Cup Series — Pepsi 400, from Daytona Beach, Fla.

"Legal Eagles" (1986), 7 p.m., Pax TV. Robert Redford stars as an assistant district attorney who's drawn to both the defense lawyer (Debra Winger) and her gorgeous client (Daryl Hannah). As directed by Ivan Reitman ("Ghostbusters"), the film manages to juggle comedy, romance and a solid enough plot.

"America's Funniest Home Videos," 9 p.m., ABC. This reruns the second half of the championship round, choosing the year's winner. Among other things, the prize includes a trip to every Disney theme park.
