UH hoops open with Michigan St.

Michigan State, a Final Four team last season, is the marquee game on the 2005-06 non-conference schedule for the University of Hawai'i men's basketball team.

The Rainbow Warriors will open the season against the Spartans on Nov. 19 at 1:05 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The schedule for the 42nd Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic was also announced yesterday, and Hawai'i will host Loyola Marymount on the opening night, Dec. 20.

The entire schedule with Western Athletic Conference games is expected to be announced later this summer.

2005-06 Non-conference schedule

Nov. 19—Michigan State. Nov. 22—at UNLV. Nov. 26—Saint Louis. Dec. 6—UNLV. Dec. 10—at Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Dec. 20-23—Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic (20—Colorado State vs. Western Michigan; Hawai'i vs. Loyola Marymount. 21—Northwestern State vs. Oregon State; Iowa State vs. South Florida. 22—Consolation and semifinal games. 23—Seventh place, fifth place, third place and championship games.) UH TICKETS

Football, volleyball sales start Wednesday

University of Hawai'i football and women's volleyball season tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday.

The Warrior football team will open the 2005 season against two-time defending national champion USC, Sept. 3 at Aloha Stadium. The home schedule also features Western Athletic Conference rivals Boise State, Oct. 1, and Fresno State, Oct. 29. UH also hosts new WAC members New Mexico State, Oct. 15, and Utah State, Nov. 13.

Hawai'i will wrapup the regular season with non-conference games against Wisconsin Nov. 25, and former WAC member San Diego State Dec. 3.

The Rainbow Wahine volleyball team will face one of its toughest schedules in recent history, hosting nine teams that were in the 2004 NCAA Tournament. Hawai'i opens its home schedule with national semifinalist USC, Sept. 1, at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Cost for football tickets: $145 sidelines (premium seat contribution may apply), $127 south end zone (premium seat contribution may apply), $99 north end zone adult, $87 north end zone senior citizen and $77 north end zone Jr. Bow (age 4 through high school).

Cost for women's volleyball tickets: $120 upper level adult, $105 upper level senior citizen, $70 upper level student (age 4 through high school).
