Fireworks displays to light up O'ahu

Fireworks lit up the sky above the Aloha Tower and the Norwegian Cruise Lines' Pride of Aloha yesterday during a pre-Independence Day extravaganza at Aloha Tower Marketplace. The event is a kind of warmup for the Fourth of July festivities scheduled for today.

From Ala Moana to Wahiawa, O'ahu residents will have their pick of five aerial fireworks displays tonight to cap off the three-day Fourth of July weekend.

Public fireworks displays tonight

Kailua Beach, 7:45 p.m.

Magic Island, 8:30 p.m.

Pearl Harbor, 8:30 p.m.

Schofield Barracks, 8:30 p.m.

Kane'ohe Bay, 10:30 p.m.

The annual Kailua Beach fireworks show will begin at 7:45 p.m. It will be preceded by the sixth Twilight Airshow at 6 p.m.

The Ala Moana Center Fourth of July Fireworks Show off Magic Island will begin at 8:30 p.m. The center will have entertainment from noon, featuring Pali, Round & Round, Kalaeloa, the Makaha Sons and others.

Schofield Barracks is having a public festival with crafts, entertainment and rides from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Sills Field. Fireworks go off at 8:30 p.m.

Pearl Harbor Naval Station is having a block party from 2 to 9 p.m. for military personnel, family members and sponsored guests. A fireworks show begins at 8:30 p.m.

The McKenna Motors BayFest ends its four-day run at Marine Corps Base Hawai'i at Kane'ohe from noon to midnight today. Fireworks go off at 10:30 p.m.
