Motorcyclist dies, girl hurt in crash

A man was killed and a girl critically injured Sunday afternoon when a motorcycle collided with a car in Mokule'ia, police said.
The cyclist, described as a 21-year-old Schofield man, was "popping a wheelie" on Farrington Highway when he collided with a 1992 Mazda Miata that was making a left turn into a driveway at about 4:40 p.m., police said.
He was pronounced dead at Wahiawa General Hospital.
A passenger on the 1997 Suzuki motorcycle, a 16-year-old girl from Oklahoma, was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition.
The two on the motorcycle were not wearing helmets, police said.
A 22-year-old woman driving the Mazda convertible was not injured.
Speeding may have been a factor, police said.
State employees will be at the Filipino Community Center in Waipahu to process applications for state ID cards from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 16. The center is at 94-428 Mokuola St. Applications will be available there.
The fee is $10 for people 65 or older and $15 for all others, payable in cash only. Priority will be given to applicants with completed application forms and required certified documents. State ID cards will be processed and mailed back to applicants within 10 working days.
State ID workers also will process applications at these locations and dates: Aug. 6 at Mitchell Pauole Center, Moloka'i; Aug. 27 at Kapolei Satellite City Hall; Sept. 24 at Mililani High School; and Oct. 8 at Kaiser High School.
