Movies opening on the Neighbor Islands for Consolidated Theaters were unavailable at press time.

  • "Dark Water": Jennifer Connelly, newly separated, moves with her small daughter (Ariel Gade) to a dark apartment in a grim building on New York's Roosevelt Island. A haunted house movie by Walter Salles ("Central Station"), based on a 2002 movie by the Japanese horror specialist Hideo Nakata.   • "Fantastic Four": Based on the popular comic-book series. Four scientists are transformed by a mysterious star storm into beings with superpowers: the man-mountain Thing (Michael Chiklis); the infinitely stretchable Mr. Fantastic (Ioan Gruffudd); the Invisible Woman (Jessica Alba), who can generate force fields; and the Human Torch (Chris Evans), who can generate solar temperatures.   • "Head On": Two suicidal Turks, living in Germany, meet in a mental institution. She asks him to marry her, as an excuse to get away from her home, father and brother. In German and Turkish, with English subtitles. Opens tomorrow at Dole Cannery 18 Theatres. Not rated; adult material.
