Kim falls to 10th at Rolex golf tourney

Hawai'i's Kimberly Kim and Mari Chun made five bogeys apiece the first two days of the Rolex Tournament of Champions. They combined for 10 in yesterday's third round at Long Cove Club on Hilton Head Island, S.C.
Kim, 13, from Pahoa, shot a 5-over-par 76 to fall into a tie for 10th at 217. She is five behind leader Amanda Blumenherst going into today's final round. After playing the first two rounds in 1-under, Kim had four bogeys and a double bogey yesterday, with one birdie.
Chun, a Kamehameha Schools graduate heading to Stanford, is one back of Kim after a 75. Chun had six bogeys and a birdie.
Blumenherst, from Arizona, will play for Duke in the fall. After opening with 69 the first two days, she shot 74 yesterday.
Rolex is one of 11 majors on the American Junior Golf Association schedule and, in its 28th year, is the longest running AJGA tournament.
KIMURA MAINTAINS 4-SHOT LEAD AT OCC
Blaine Kimura struggled through wind and rain for a 4-over 75, but maintained a two-stroke lead after two rounds of the Oahu Country Club Men's Invitational yesterday at the OCC course.
Kimura has a 36-hole total of 143 entering today's final round.
Ryan Perez shot 70 and was alone in second at 145. Kellen-Floyd Asao (75) and Travis Toyama (77) were next at 147.
The field was cut to the low 30 scores and ties.
The final round tees off today at 12:30 p.m. with the leaders to go out at 1:51.
TURTLE BAY 808GOLF TV ON AIR TONIGHT
Turtle Bay 808Golf TV will debut its sixth show of the year today at 10 p.m. on OC16. The broadcast will feature highlights from the 97th Manoa Cup, won by Travis Toyama last month.
The show will also have a segment with Brian Kaulupali, course superintendent at The Dunes at Maui Lani and president of the Hawai'i Golf Course Superintendents Association. Kaulupali will talk about working for a course built on sand dunes.
