Wie tied for 84th in men's Public Links

Advertiser Staff

Michelle Wie, the only female in the field, shot a 6-over 76 today in the Men's Amateur Public Links in Lebanon, Ohio.

The 15-year-old, who last week just failed in her bid of becoming the first female in 60 years to make a 36-hole cut of a PGA Tour event, was even-par after nine holes. She suffered two double bogeys on the back nine.

She is tied for 84th place. The top 64 players from the field of 156 players advance to match play.

Wie is one of four golfers from Hawai'i in the tournament.

Jacob Low, a recent Hilo High graduate, shot 2-over 72 and is tied for 24th.

Sean Maekawa, a Honoka'a junior, shot a 3-over 73 and is tied for 35th.

Royden Heirakuji, 39, shot 6-over 76 and is tied with Wie in 84th place.
