Water main break closes townbound lane of Farrington

Advertiser Staff

The Board of Water Supply is asking Leeward Coast residents to conserve water until a water main can be repaired near the Ali'inui Drive on-ramp.

The break has closed one of the two townbound lanes on Farrington Highway, but officials said they were optimistic the leak can be repaired before tomorrow morning's commuter traffic. However, they won't know the extent of the leak until later this afternoon.

Water will be available for residents and businesses, though there may be a drop in water pressure. Until the leak is fixed, the Board of Water Supply is asking residents and businesses to use water for only essential use — drinking, cooking and personal hygiene.
