Police are looking for three men, estimated to be in their 20s, who robbed a visitor in his 40s and his niece about 5:50 a.m. yesterday while the two were walking though a right of way toward a beach in Waimanalo.

Police said one of the men brandished a knife and demanded money from the girl while a second man , who was armed with a baseball bat, demanded money from the uncle and ordered him to hand over his wallet as well.

The uncle turned over his wallet and credit cards, but the assailant swung the bat at him anyway, police said.

The blow missed the uncle and he was able to take the bat away from the suspect who then ran away from the scene.

The uncle was injured slightly while struggling for control of the bat, but he declined medical treatment, police said.
