Outrigger defeated BalboaBay Quiksilver, 21-25, 25-22, 15-12, in the final. In a semifinal, Outrigger outlasted Synergy, 32-30, 17-25, 17-15.

Outrigger won all 11 of its matches, losing just those two games during the national tournament.

UH ALUM CAREY AT TEXAS AM

Former University of Hawai\'i setter Jennifer Carey is the new director of volleyball operations at Texas A&M, Aggie coach Laurie Corbelli announced.

"I would like to get into college coaching someday, but as a business administration and marketing major I also enjoy the administrative side," Carey said in an Aggie press release. "I just want to learn from the staff and see what all is involved."

Carey\'s responsibilities include coordinating and organizing team travel, on-campus recruiting, tape exchange, equipment inventory and summer camps exclusively for the volleyball program.

Carey is from Newport Beach, Calif. She was a three-time all-WAC second-team selection, played on two NCAA final four teams and ranks fourth on the UH career assists list. She received her marketing degree in May 2003.

Since leaving Hawai\'i, Carey has played professionally in Germany and coached the Saddleback Valley Volleyball Club.
