Traffic alert issued for Sunday's Tinman

Special traffic controls will be used in Waikiki and East Honolulu during Sunday's 25th annual Tinman Triathlon.

The route will have one lane closed and/or coned off starting at 4 a.m. Tow-away zones are in effect from 1 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The swim is at Queen's Beach across from Kapi'olani Park.

The bike begins on Kalakaua Avenue and will affect traffic on Poni Mo'i Road, Diamond Head Road, Kahala Avenue, Keala'olu Avenue, Kalaniana'ole Highway and Lunalilo Home Road, Wailua Street, Hawai'i Kai Drive, Keahole Street, 'Ainakoa Avenue, Kilauea Avenue and 'Elepaio Street.

The run affects traffic on Kalakaua near Kapi'olani Park, Kapahulu, Paki and Monsarrat, 18th, Kilauea avenues, 'Elepaio Street, Kahala Avenue and Diamond Head Road.

ALLEN ALLEN CAMP SET

Former University of Hawai'i All-American Allen Allen will conduct two O'ahu camps through his Allen Allen Volleyball Club. The first will be July 25 and 26 at King Intermediate, followed by a camp July 27 and 28 at Pearl City High School.

O'ahu camps are $90 each. Morning sessions are for kids 12 and under, with older players in the afternoon.
