BUSINESS BRIEFS
Barnwell included in stock index

Advertiser Staff

Honolulu-based Barnwell Industries today announced that it was selected to join the Russell Microcap Index.

The newly launched index, which debuted on July 1, is comprised of the smallest 1,000 securities issuers in the small-cap Russell 2000 Index along with the next smallest 1,000 companies, based on a ranking of all U.S. equities by market capitalization. The index offers portfolio managers and other investors a barometer to compare their performance against the genuine microcap marketplace of stocks.

Barnwell Industries, Inc. and its subsidiaries are principally engaged in the business of exploring for, developing, producing, and selling natural gas and oil in Canada, investing in leasehold land in Hawai'i, and drilling wells and maintaining water systems in Hawai'i.

Tsukiji Fish Market & Restaurant to open at Ala Moana

Tsukiji Fish Market and Restaurant is set to open its first location at Ala Moana Center in early 2006.

The combination fish market and restaurant is inspired by Tokyo's Tsukiji Fish Market, the largest fish market in the world. The Tsukiji name is being used with the Tokyo market's permission.

The 14,000-square-foot Ala Moana Center restaurant will seat 350 and include a sushi bar, a yakitori bar and a Japanese food buffet serving a variety of dishes cooked fresh while diners watch. At the fish market, customers will be able to buy fresh fish from local waters and around the globe. The Restaurant will be located on the fourth-level Ho'okipa Terrace.
