TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
Kelly Preston stars in a two-part episode with Matt LeBlanc on "Joey" tonight. She plays the high-school dream girl he never got to date but who is now visiting his sister.
"Joey," 7 p.m., NBC. Here are three of the first season's better episodes, back to back. Even if you were disappointed in the show overall, you should like these. First is a two-parter, with Kelly Preston as Joey's high-school dream girl. Back then, he was too intimidated to date her; now she's available and visiting his sister. Then, at 9 p.m., a different kind of romance. Joey is gaga for one of his co-stars on the "Deep Powder" series. His boss (Lucy Liu) disapproves especially since the actress plays his daughter on the show. These are bright, funny episodes, built around a likable character. They also show, however, that "Joey" has been weak in its secondary stories. The first episode has an OK one: Joey's nephew, the rocket scientist, is startled to learn he was once good at baseball. The second (the landlady learns that "hot girls get stuff free") and third (a lasagna-making contest between the sister and landlady) have lame ones.
OF NOTE
"Big Brother 6," 7 p.m., CBS. It's time for the second eviction.
"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. A flight attendant has been raped and killed in a cheap hotel, following the pattern of a previous crime.
"The O.C.," 8 p.m., Fox. Sandy's mom (Linda Lavin) summons him to visit her in Miami; Seth and Ryan come along, to catch some spring-break action. What none of them realizes is that this is leading to major trouble with the women back home.
"Hooking Up," 8 p.m., ABC. Dating remains complicated for these New York City women. Maryam has had a string of bad dates.
"Will & Grace," 8:30 p.m., NBC. The first two episodes have Jeff Goldblum as Karen's old nemesis. He schemes to get her fired in the first, then courts her in the second. At 9:30 p.m. is a Valentine's Day episode. (You're sensing that these are reruns, right?) Grace hates greeting cards, then dates a handsome guy (Ed Burns) who writes them.
"Without a Trace," 9 p.m., CBS. A woman asks a baby sitter to watch her 3-year-old, then disappears. The search looks into the everyday world of the working poor.
