With a little more than a week remaining before the start of training camp, the University of Hawai'i football team added two more receivers.

David Kaihenui, a 2003 Kailua High School graduate who played the past two seasons at College of the Sequoias (Visalia, Calif.), and Aaron Bain, a 2005 Saint Louis School graduate, accepted invitations to compete in training camp beginning Aug. 4.

NCAA rules limit training camp rosters to 105. The restriction is lifted Aug. 22, the start of UH's fall semester. But with no returning starters at the four receiver positions, the Warriors have spent the summer adding depth.

Kaihenui, who is 6 feet and 177 pounds, is projected to compete at wideout. He can run 40 yards in 4.49 seconds. He was named to the 2004 All-Valley Conference first team.

He recently earned an associate degree, fulfilling an eligibility requirement for an incoming transfer. He will have three years to play two seasons.

In spurning an offer from New Mexico State, Kaihenui is "going with my heart. Since little-kid time, I always wanted to play for the home team. My friends and family wanted me to come home and play ball at UH. That's always been my dream, too."

He also said the Warriors' four-wide passing attack is "a receiver's dream. Why would a receiver want to play anywhere else?"

Kaihenui is participating in the Warriors' unsupervised workouts at the UH practice field. He said he has lost 13 pounds since the start of the summer.

Bain, who is 5 feet 10 and 190 pounds, also has been participating in the afternoon workouts.

At Saint Louis, Bain played both slot positions and returned kicks and punts. He will compete at slotback at UH.

"He's got great speed," Saint Louis coach Delbert Tengan said. "He's very physical. He lives in the weight room. He works out hard. He's really put together."

Bain also was a member of the Crusaders' Division II basketball team, and he competed in track.

"He'll be a great addition," Tengan said. "He's really going to help the Warriors."
