Three arrested after hitting man with sticks

Police arrested three men, two of them 19-years old and the other 21, in connection with the beating in Waikiki last night of a 35-year-old man.

The victim told police the three strangers hurled racial slurs at him about 10:45 p.m. for no apparent reason, threatened to kill him and then hit him with large sticks with nails protruding from them.

Police arrived and arrested the three for suspicion of second-degree assault, first-degree terroristic threatening and third-degree assault.

The victim received minor injuries during the incident, police said.



Boy, 14, threatens classmate with knife

A14-year-old Kane'ohe boy was arrested yesterday afternoon after he allegedly chased an 18-year-old classmate around a schoolyard, threatening to stab him.

Police said the two argued earlier and the younger boy left and returned later with a knife.

The younger boy left the unidentified school campus before police arrived but was located at home. He was arrested at approximately 4:30 p.m. for suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.



Home robbed as it is being fumigated

Police are looking for a man who broke into a Waialua home between 2 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday morning while the home was being fumigated.

The homeowner told police the intruder tore through the fumigation tent, entered the home and stole a safe and a suitcase filled with jewelry and other personal items.



Father arrested after threatening son with knife

A 35-year-old Kane'ohe man was arrested yesterday for allegedly chasing his 14-year-old son down a street about 10:15 p.m. Friday and threatening to kill him with a pocket knife.

Police said the incident was reported Saturday morning by the boy's mother.

Patrol officers found the father at his home yesterday and arrested him for suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.



Man threatens wife with concrete block, arrested

A 35-year-old Kane'ohe man was arrested yesterday after he threatened his wife, also 35, with a concrete block.

The wife told police she had gotten into her car when the husband came toward her yelling and holding the broken "hollow tile" block above his head.

The wife drove away and called police, who arrested the husband at the couple's home without incident.



Car stolen in Nevada recovered in Honolulu

Police arrested a 24-year-old man yesterday morning at the corner of Keawe and Auahi streets after he was spotted driving a car that had been reported stolen in Las Vegas.

Officers noticed the car had Utah license plates and had not been registered in Hawai'i. The Las Vegas Police Department confirmed the car had been reported stolen there. Attempts by Honolulu police officers to contact the registered owner were not successful.

The driver, who was ordered to pull over yesterday, was arrested for suspicion of multiple traffic offenses and unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.
