Hawaiian Airlines wins award for turnaround

The management of Hawaiian Airlines has been recognized by Airline Business magazine for the the airline's restructuring and emergence from bankruptcy.

President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Dunkerley accepted the magazine's Finance Award during ceremonies in London July 17. The judging panel took note that while other troubled airlines have restructured by breaking commitments to suppliers, pension funds, employees and other creditors, Hawaiian went through the process by keeping its commitments and setting an example for the industry.
